Your Source for Known and Novel Biochemicals From Fungi

Funite LLC

Fungal secondary metabolites possess a diverse array of chemical activities thought to promote the survival and competitive advantage of fungi. These metabolites are of great use to humankind: for example, six of the top twenty pharmaceuticals are derived from fungi.

Funite LLC is a new business dedicated to improving the human condition through research on, and production of, fungal secondary metabolites. Our current focus is on production of known metabolites in small batches for use in research, and isolation of novel metabolites that can be screened for biochemical and pharmacologic activities.

HC-toxin

Structure of HC-toxin

Our first product offering is HC-toxin, a modified cyclic tetrapeptide that is a potent inhibitor of histone deactetylase. Download the Certificate of Analysis, or Contact Us for a quote

Chlamydocin

Structure of Chlamydocin

We are in the midst of production of Chlamydocin, a similar cyclic tetrapeptide that also contains Aeo and is also a potent inhibitor of histone deactetylase.

Amatoxins and Phallotoxins

Amanita phalloides, the Death Cap mushroom, produces a variety of amatoxins and phallotoxins, including the RNA polymerase II inhibitors, alpha- and beta-amanitin, and the actin-binding toxins phalloidin and phallacidin. We now offer beta-amanitin and phalloidin, and are finishing isolation of the other major and minor toxins from A. phalloides.

Structure of alpha- and beta-Amanitin

Structure of alpha- and beta-Amanitin

alpha-Amanitin

Alpha-Amanitin is a bicyclic octapeptide with potent inhibitory activity against eukaryotic RNA polymerases II and III. Download the Certificate of Analysis, or Contact Us for a quote

beta-Amanitin

Beta-Amanitin is a bicyclic octapeptide closely related to alpha-Amanitin, and also posesses potent inhibitory activity against eukaryotic RNA polymerases II and III. Download the Certificate of Analysis, or Contact Us for a quote

Structure of Phalloidin and Phallacidin

Structure of Phalloidin and Phallacidin

Phalloidin

Phalloidin is a bicyclic heptapeptide with high affinity for polymerized actin (filamentous, or F-actin), inhibitiing its depolymerization. The remarkable selectivity of phalloidin's binding to F-actin has led to a synthesis of a variety of fluorescent conjugates for microscopic visualization of the actin cytoskeleton. Phallacidin

Similar to phalloidin, Phallacidin is a bicyclic heptapeptide with high affinity for polymerized actin (filamentous, or F-actin) that is also used to inhibit actin depolymerization and visualize the actin cytoskeleton. Download the Certificate of Analysis, or Contact Us for a quote
